Dermalogica Ultracalming Calm Water Gel

The formula has great ingredients that help the hydration and the calming/cooling effect on the skin, such as Aloe Vera, Dimethicone, Sodium Hyaluronate and Pyrus Malus Fruit Extract. This formula contains good quantity of these ingredients because they are at the top of the ingredient’s list. Overall, the formula itself is working on my face. I used it for about 28 days now (as you know, 28 days is the minimum time necessary to start seeing changes in your skin) and I can see and feel my face more hydrated. The product has a unique consistency: it comes in a thick-gel form that turns in a very liquid fluid. Therefore, when you apply it to the face, it almost feels like you are applying water. I squeeze a pea size amount on my fingers, I rub the product between my hands and the product becomes liquid-like. Then, I apply it to my face by patting it in with my hands. The feeling on the skin is amazing, it feels like you are drenching your face in hydration and it feels very refreshing. I do feel the product is working. When I wash my face it feels very tight and, with this moisturiser, my face feels hydrated . So, I cleanse, I put my serum, then eye cream, next this moisturiser and finally sunscreen. This product works well with my skincare routine. The only downside that I see is that it takes time to absorb completely into the skin. I have rosacea and was therefore super excited about this product. The texture is something I needed to get used too and I am still not sure whether I like it or not. I feel like a real gel would have had the ultra calming effect I was waiting for. It‘s not at all a bad product, my skin reacted very well to it, but it is also not what I expected when I read ultra calming. It is a nice moisturizer, I like using it, but I don‘t think I would buy it again because of the price and the, for me, missing effect. If this would have been a real gel however, I would. So I am definitely going to check out the other products of this range!

The calm water gel is really a very nice product, you only need a very small amount and it spreads wonderfully. My skin can sometimes still be tight or irritated and this causes it to disappear immediately. Furthermore, this product also smells great!!!!
