Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm

Deze lipbalm is heel mooi glansend en voelt heel fijn zacht en hydraterend aan. Of het daadwerkelijk je lippen ‘groter’ maakt weet ik niet. Je hoort het 3x per dag te gebruiken. Ik raad het product wel aan want het is mooie en fijne lip balm, die ook best betaalbaar is want je doet er redelijk lang mee. Ik heb hem in de korting bij ici paris xl gekocht!

Plumping lip balm-inkey list

Lekkere lippenbalsem, kleine tube dat wel. Doet voor de rest niets bijzonders. Vaseline in een tube ;) zou het niet nog een keer kopen aangezien het niet mijn lippen dikker maakt, terwijl ze daar wel mee promoten. Lipgloss glanst wel mooi, maar het gaat wel snel weer van je lippen.

Smeert prima, doet niets bijzonders

Het doel van dit product is om je lippen te hydrateren en na min. 3x gebruiken per dag je lippen plumpen. Ik vind deze lippenbalsem echt super fijn. Hij maakt mijn lippen glowy en lijkt alsof ik lipgloss op heb. Het heeft mijn lippen wel goed gehydrateerd, maar ik kan niet zeggen dat het product mijn lippen plumpt. Ik heb dit product al meer als een maand en gebruik het heel vaak. Verder vind ik hem top en heb al een nieuwe gekocht! 

Super fijn!

If, like me, you have thin lips, then you've possibly tried various lip plumping products with varying results. As a fan of The Inkey List products, I had seen that this was launching so was delighted to get the opportunity to review it and see if it stood up to the hype.

The tube is quite small, containing 10ml of product but I'm finding a little goes a long way so it should last for quite a while, even using it the recommended three times a day. I use about a rice grain size on each lip and massage it in using the applicator tip. It can be used directly on the lips or over your lipstick of choice. My lips feel instantly hydrated and have a nice glossy look after application although the glossiness doesn't last that long after applying. There's no sticky feeling, and there's no tingling or discomfort like you can get with a lot of other plumping products.

Having used this for a couple of months, I only noticed minor improvement to the fullness of my lips and that's probably just down to the hydrating properties of the product.I have some fine lines around my mouth so while I just use this on my lips during the day, in the evening I use it as a mask and also apply it to the skin immediately around my lips to see if it can help plump those out too, and these lines do look very slightly less pronounced already.

Essentially it's a nice lip balm but I didn't get the plumping effects it claims to offer.

Hydrating but not very plumping 


You don't get much more #AutumnEssentials than lip balm! And this one has stolen my heart (& my cupids bow! Lol)

I admit, I was a wee bit sceptical when I first saw the ads for this lip balm (im naturally cynical and in this day and age where we're constantly inundated with the next "Must-Have Wonder product" i always wonder "will it actually work"?!). But, as someone with naturally quite thin lips, and not much of a cupids bow to write home about, I thought "why not" and bought it pretty much as soon as it came out!

Nearly 4 months down the line, I can honestly say IT BLOODY WORKS! My lips are plumbed and better defined and my cupids bow is now more prominent! You DO need to be using it 3+ times per day (as per the advice of the manufacturers!), and tbh the more the better! And try be a little patient because it dies take a few weeks for the full effect to kick in but I'm delighted!

The one thing I would say is that it can make your lips peel, usually when your not using it enough! It seems strange for a lip balm to dry out your lips short term, but that's how I gauge how much I need to use it (& in winter, pair it with a superhydrator! Like Clinique's Moisture Surge, which doesn't plump.like this does but is really great at balancing the active ingredient that causes the tightness and peeling!).

The lip balm itself it is exactly the kind of fuss free product you expect from Inkey List. It's not flavoured nor tinted, it glides on smoothly and leaves lips with a satiny shine rather than a high gloss, which suits me perfectly! If anything, the very slight taste is a little like vaseline... but it's surely closely related?! (despite the hi-tech ingredients!) So that's probably not surprising (& I don't dislike the taste of Vaseline anyway :). My only slight niggle, and it's only very minor, is that the dispenser (and I often find it with this style of lip balm) needs firm pressure to get the product out, especially after a couple of weeks use! Lol, so there is a slight danger of OVERapplication if you squeeze it with too much venom!

It really works! But...

I love a plumping gloss, however sometimes the tingling sensation isn’t ideal so when I used this I was excited to see what happened. 

It is essentially a plain, clear lip balm which claims to help plump your lips. I think because you don’t get the sensation you don’t realise that it is working. My pictures were taken before use, 2 weeks in and then around 4 weeks after starting and you can see a clear difference in my lips. During this time I did not use any other plumping product which may of had any effect. 

It doesn’t have a scent to it or a colour, I found that it was perfect for daily use and you only needed a small amount, the tube lasted me for a good amount of time and I was using it multiple times a day. 

It is quite highly priced when you think that it is essentially just a lip balm but comparing it to lip plumpers I would actually say that it is good value for money. 

I found this also worked well wearing it with a simple lip liner and applying it over the top to give it a slight colour, it was a simple way to create a natural yet effective make up look while hydrating and plumping the lips.
