On Evie's recommendation, I tried this shampoo because I had dandruff or flakes and especially itchy scalp, and WOW what am I positively surprised! really a super fine shampoo, the itch is MANY times less & its conditioner is really top! The scent was something I had to get used to but fortunately it doesn't stick:)

Review time!! Hello dear, beautiful Eves. By now, I started my umpteenth bottle of this shampoo and realized I've never written a review about it... foei!!! With my curls and bizarre sensitive skin, finding her products that I can take 1. And 2. Happy is going to be quite a challenge. Before I found this shampoo I tried many (no, really ridiculously many) alternatives and even experimented in the interim, but this is a real stay for me! (Scroll down for short and concise plus and minus points and skip the scientific babble) During my career as a hairdresser and hairstylist, I have been able to work with many high- and low-end brands, but for my hair there is none like the Ginger shampoo. The scent is... getting used to it. Unless you really love that ginger scent, it's a thing. However, the fragrance does not remain long and certainly not explicitly present. I have sensitive skin and I get a quick reaction to products on my head. With this shampoo I can take 4 days to a week (!!!!) Go through life itch-free. After that, I really need to do a big cleaning, partly because I use products to style my curly hair. I wash my hair twice per wash. Some kind of double-cleanse... The first time to remove product build-up and then to cleanse and soothe my scalp. Now I know many of you start looking at the ingredients and think “Oh, no sulfaaaaaaaten”! And I can't blame you for that either. Normally I'm really not a fan of SLS, but the remaining ingredients are SO well balanced and efficient, that I can't help but overlook it (until I find a sulfate-free alternative) What ingredients are that? - Piroctone Olamine: anti-fungal and antibacterial ingredient. (Does the same as zinc oxide but I can't handle zinc well) - Sodium Chloride/Salt: Purifying Ingredient - Mel/honey: purifying, antibacterial, nourishing, soothing ingredient - guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride: emollient ingredient - Sodium salicylate: Stops bacterial growth, stimulates collagen production (according to 2 studies) - salix alba (willow) bark extract: soothing ingredient. Deceptive Ingredients: - dimethicone propyl pg benzoate: yes, silicon, but dissolves in water. - Sodium hydroxide: pH balancing if it is less than 1% of the markup. - Isopropyl alcohol: Disinfecting, but not drying out in combination with the remaining ingredients. Yes, but what are the plus and downsides? + Well-picked and balanced effective ingredients + Does what it promises: Provides a calm scalp, less itching and irritation + Economical to use. Thanks to the 3 “foaming” ingredients combined with the water-soluble silicone, it distributes easily throughout your scalp and the potent ingredients require less. + NO zinc! (I'm sensitive to zinc, which is usually in these types of products) _ SLS _ Can make your hair feel a bit dry and stiff (no problem after conditioner) _ Fragrances and Perfume _ Not super budget-friendly, but economical to use, so an investment. In the sum, there is no other shampoo for me, which gives me the result I get from this Ginger shampoo. Happy hair days! Xx SuzyVP

Good shampoo gets used to makes your hair a bit stiff at first, but your hair is also less greasy and is especially good for a troubled scalp with flakes, etc. I like the products of the body shop so much.
