For a while, I used the aloe vera gel from the gardens (Holland & Barrett) as a face cream as recommended. However, with my mixed oily and dry skin, this did not work. It does moisturize as promised on the oily skin areas of the face (T-zone & forehead), but around the nose and especially corners of the mouth I got very dry skin with flakes/skins just halfway through the day. I do think I have to say honestly that I am Asian and therefore seem to need more hydration and cream base on my face than gel alone. So I now have the face cream of the same line of aloe vera “day & night cream” by Holland & Barrett and that works much better for my skin. For example, I now use the aloe vera gel as a night cream when I am burned by the sun, on the face or on the shoulders and back. This is wonderfully cooling and hydrating.

The madman has a nice structure and has a cooling effect. Non-greasy and pleasant for dry skin. I've been using this gel for years. Recommended to use on summer days. I also keep it in the fridge for an extra cooling effect. Use on face and body
