Black Girl Skin

I want to try this product. But I have problems in the past using products that work on lighter skin tone but harsher on mine. Can anyone recommend it?

I'm a white girl, but this sunscreen is clear! So I can't see a chance of it leaving a white cast on you.

Best matte sunscreen

This is the best matte sunscreen I've ever tried. In fact, it is so matte for my combo skin that it tends to dehydrate it... I fix this by using a heave moisturizer before. It has quite strong floral perfume which I don't mind. I see no whitecast on me but I think darker skin tones could experience it. It spreads incredibly easily.

Vichy capital soliel it’s a water fluid & sinks right into the skin. No residue or grease what so ever and good priced.

Amazing

This sun cream has become part of my day to day routine. Skincare is essential and this creates a lovely feeling on the skin and doesn’t feel tacky or sticky or greasy! I have quite sensitive skin and I always love using E.L.F products as they don’t upset my skin

Lightweight Protection with a Radiant Finish

The Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics SPF 50+ is a game-changer in my skincare routine. This sunscreen not only offers high-level protection from harmful UV rays but also feels incredibly lightweight on the skin. Infused with nourishing ingredients like rice extract and probiotics, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and smooth without any greasy residue. What sets it apart is the radiant, dewy finish that enhances my natural glow. It wears beautifully under makeup, and there's no white cast, making it perfect for daily use. Whether you're looking for sun protection or a glowing complexion, the Beauty of Joseon Sunscreen is a must-try.

Great sun protection

ANTHELIOS UVMUNE 400 DERMO PEDIATRICS Invisible Fluid is a high sun protection, specially formulated for children, also great for the whole family. This suncream offers broad spectrum protection with SPF50+, guarding against both UVA and UVB rays. The invisible formula blends seamlessly into the skin without leaving a white cast. Suitable for sensitive skin as well as atopy prone skin which is great for my son. Both my kids enjoyed applying it and really liked the little bottle, which is very handy and fits into any handbag, making it perfect for travelling, l've also been using this cream as my face sun protection. I like the consistency and the hydrating properties. Overall very effective and gentle sunscreen,

Terrable

I recently used Nivea Kids sunscreen and had a severe skin reaction that looked like a severe burn. The chemical in the product left me in agony and extreme discomfort. It was a horrible experience, and I do not recommend this brand. I no longer trust this product on my skin. Please make sure to consult a healthcare professional about your skin reaction if you haven't already. Your health and safety are important.

Not for me

I really didn’t get on with this product and ended up returning it. I have dry skin and found the product pilled quite a bit under makeup. It was much too dark on my fair skin so if I wanted to use enough for SPF coverage I looked ridiculous. It also left a slight burning sensation on my skin. Shame as I really wanted to love it!

Lightweight and great under makeup

This sunscreen is much more of a watery gel consistency and it feels incredibly light on the skin. It absorbs very quickly and works super well under makeup, no pilling or dissolving. It’s very easy to apply and you can do multiple layers if you want to double up on a very sunny day or using retinol like me. The only slight downside is in the seconds before it takes to absorb there’s a slight smell like alcohol evaporating. That being said I have dry skin and haven’t found it drying.

The most unnoticeable sun screen I have ever used

I don't think I can use any other sunscreen for my face after using this one. A known problem I get with sunscreens is that they seem to "suffocate" the sweat glands on my face and they cause excess sweating. Now imagine it's already a hot day, who in their right mind WANTS to sweat more just to protect their face from sun rays? But there is no need to suffer from excess sweating when using this sunscreen. It is light as a feather and gets absorbed into the skin as if it were just a light serum. As a bonus, it gives the skin a healthy (but not greasy!) glow and there is zero heaviness felt. I never got burned in my face while using it so it does its job! I also believe that it won't leave a white cast on darker skin, but I can't 100% promise that because I'm light.

The best mineral SPF out there!

I'm totally in LOVE with my Mecca Cosmetica "To Save Face" SPF 30. it comes in 50 as well, for those who really want it (but... Industry secret... we don't seriously need 50! it's more a marketing gimmick aimed to reassure us, since you should be reapplying SPF every two hours anyway 50 actually doesn't give you any realistic extra protection, and often leads to people GETTING sunburned because they think they don't need to reapply it as frequently!). This Aussie company (because, let's face it, the Aussies know all about SPF!) has produced a fantastic, reef safe, mineral SPF that just vanishes into the skin without leaving any cast or greasiness. It makes a great base for makeup and is loaded with skincare ingredients to provide antioxidants and hydration, to protect andaintain your skin barrier. It also leaves a dewy to matte finish, which is really lovely and is such a luxurious texture to apply that I can actually skip my morning moisturiser if I choose to! It's vegan, offers protection against UVA and UVB, uses 30% PCR plastic in its packaging and is just totally awesome!

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Tea-Trica Sun Milk

SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Tea-Trica Soothing Sun Milk SPF50+ provides high broad-spectrum sun protection while being gentle on the skin. Its lightweight, milky texture spreads easily and absorbs quickly, leaving no white cast, making it suitable for all skin tones. Infused with Centella Asiatica and tea tree extract, this sunscreen not only shields against UV rays but also calms and soothes the skin, making it ideal for sensitive or acne-prone skin. I appreciate its non-greasy finish and subtle, refreshing scent, I enjoying its comfortable wear and effective protection throughout the day.

Like a fragrance body mist and suncare in one

This is the only sunscreen I have ever worn and received compliments from a stranger about how I good I smelt. It really is like Sol de janeiro body mist had a sun care child, it smells wonderful. My only gripe is the price, I do wish this was a more affordable line!

Effective yet lightweight spf

The Sun Protective Water SPF30 provides broad sun protection targeting 100% of sun spectrum and also helps repair skin from sun induced damage. I love the fact it is so lightweight, refreshing and provides a healthy-looking golden tan in twice less time of sun exposure. My skin feels like it’s got nothing on it, but yet it is protected. It has a non-oily formula and can even be applied to wet skin. I have found it to be fast absorbed, and invisible once applied. My skin feels intensely moisturized, and it smells amazing.

Amazing

Bought this tentatively but it's a great reliable sunscreen that can be applied over makeup. It is very high quality and leaves NO WHITE CAST - coming from a woman of colour this is such a pleasure to use as i dont have to worry whether my face looks grey or not!

Doesn’t leave a white cast

I have been using this sunscreen for so e time now. It does not leave a white cast and feels very hydrating on the skin but it does make my skin very oily. I am not sure its just me or others have also noticed it that it gets very oily after some time.

WHOA - No?!

I really really REALLY wanted to like this… :( First the positives, I have this in the colour “Sunbeam” which is apparently the middle shade despite looking like the lightest on their advert (evidently the middle one is just full of glitter). It goes on BEAUTIFULLY and gives such a gorgeous, healthy, iridescent glow without being straight up metallic disco ball. It could definitely have more coverage, as well as a higher SPF, but overall I love the finish. BUT, not only did I find myself super oily and sticky by the end of the day, but sadly after a few consecutive days of consistently using this, I started to develop what seems like teeny tiny little cystic acne marks, as well as something akin to heat rash. Deep underground pimples that I could only extract with the help of microdart pimple patches. So I’ve sadly had to discontinue use. If you’re lucky and your skin doesn’t have this reaction though, then I think you would really enjoy this product! Worth a try anyway given the price point.

Rolls Royce of sunscreems

That is an amazing new product, that just came out and already got into top 7 sunscreens by British Vogue. Invisible gel texture feels like a second skin. Would absolutely recommend. Love the brand and this spf. Easy to take in a handbag and feels great as a primers as well.

A must for this weather

La Roche-Posay Anthelios UV Correct Sunscreen provides robust protection against sunburn and long-term skin damage thanks to its high SPF 70 rating and broad-spectrum coverage. The inclusion of niacinamide helps to improve skin texture and tone, reducing the appearance of dark spots over time. This dual-action approach makes it more than just a sunscreen; it also functions as a skincare treatment. The formula is lightweight and non-greasy, with a smooth consistency that spreads easily over the skin. It absorbs quickly without leaving a white cast, which is a significant advantage for those with darker skin tones. The finish is a natural, slightly dewy look that works well under makeup.

Basic SPF

I have used SPF since forever, and I was excited to try this product as it promises a dewy finish however I am a little disappointed. As an SPF it feels nice on the skin and adds as a moisturiser (feels quite rich), however, with any makeup on even a tint, it becomes gritty. Makeup does not sit well over this product. As a standalone product I would recommend, for daily use with other products it is not the one!

Glow Queen

This product is sold as SPF, but I use it as a tinded moisturiser/ light base for natural looking makeup. It gives an incredible glow, luminous skin but not shimmery/ glittery. That's a big plus for me. Consistency is between moisturiser and serum. Less is more. If you are looking for a minimal makeup glow, this is my hero product. I've used for years now and it's still a firm favourite. Side note, also works well under makeup for a fuller coverage look. It really is a beautiful product.
