Dr. Leenarts Shampoo and Conditioner doesn't work for my hair!!
First of all, I want to say that what I've experienced with this Shampoo and Conditioner doesn't have to mean that you will have the same experience as me because most of you have a very different hair type than me... It started so well... The 1st time I used the Shampoo my hair felt dry, but the Conditioner made it all right! After the Conditioner my hair felt soooo soft. That felt so good! That soft feeling remained felt for the rest of the week. But then the problems started... And I think that has all to do with my hair type and the regular routine I follow. As with the Curly Girl Method, the Natural Black Hair Community has fixed rules and methods known to every natural hair girl. These rules are: - Use a sulfate-free shampoo. - Use a deep conditioner with every wash. - Use a Co-wash between washdays. - do not use heat - Use a water-based moisturizer daily to keep your hair hydrated. - Use a 'protein treatment' once a month. - do not use shampoo more than once a week. - Use the LOC method to keep your hair hydrated (liquid, oil, cream) I've been living by these rules for years and have a regular routine in that. The only variation is in terms of products I use. This method works very well to keep my hair strong and in optimal condition and I always have little hair loss. Until I started with Dr. Leenarts Shampoo and Conditioner. The Shampoo contains sulfates and that's a no-go according to the rules. I didn't mind because the Conditioner restored the dryness of the Shampoo. I stopped using the Co-wash, deep conditioner and all the other rules and used only Dr. Leenarts Shampoo and Conditioner. But I noticed my hair changed. I had much more hair loss and my hair felt much weaker than normal. All the curls I had built started to disappear and my hair started to become very fluffy. I wasn't happy with this at all!! The only advantage was that the Conditioner made my hair very soft. Immediately I quit Dr. Leenarts and immediately picked up my old routine again. Unfortunately, I have to conclude that Dr. Leenarts Shampoo and Conditioner does not work for my hair...
